SSC CHSL Syllabus 2024

The Staff Selection Commission conducts annual recruitment for Intermediate or 10+2 Pass Candidates called SSC CHSL Exam. The SSC CHSL Syllabus 2024 is accordingly designed to test candidates’ knowledge of general subjects such as Reasoning Ability, Mathematics, English Language Comprehension, and General Awareness.

SSC CHSL 2024 Selection Process

Candidates have to pass through following stages of selection process to secure their government job through SSC CHSL 2024.

  • SSC CHSL Tier I Examination (CBT, Qualifying in Nature)
  • SSC CHSL Tier II Examination (CBT, Score used for merit list, Partly qualifying)
  • Post Preference and Document Verification by respective Departments/Ministries

Exam Pattern for SSC CHSL 2024 Tier 1

The first stage of SSC CHSL Tier 1 is a Computer Based Examination of 1 hour duration. Candidates are asked 100 questions from 4 common subjects generally asked in any competitive examination. Each subject carries equal weightage of 25 questions worth 2 marks each.

Note: The Tier-I exam is qualifying in nature and marks obtained in this tier are not considered toward final merit list or rank.

There are four subjects in SSC CHSL Tier 1 Syllabus. These are:

Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus for SSC CHSL

This is the most-scoring as well as time-consuming section of SSC CHSL Tier 1 Syllabus. Although it seems a lengthy subject, candidates can easily score 40-50 marks with thorough preparation. The Quantitative Aptitude syllabus tests the mathematical and analytical skills of the candidate. These skills are a regular part of this clerical job, especially for DEO’s who have to perform Data Entry Tasks daily.

  • Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers.
  • Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time and work.

Exam Pattern for SSC CHSL 2024 for Tier 2

Candidates qualifying for the SSC CHSL Tier 1 will be eligible for the next stage i.e. SSC CHSL Tier 2 examination. The Tier 2 exam is divided into 3 sections, containing 2 modules in each. SSC CHSL Tier 2 Syllabus 2024

Staff Selection Commission has revised the SSC CHSL Tier 2 exam pattern and syllabus. Tier 2 will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions, except for Module 2 of Section 3. The questions will be set in English and Hindi except for Module 2 (i.e. English Language and Comprehension module) in Section 2. SSC CHSL  Computer Knowledge Syllabus 2024 for Tier 2

Skill test for Data Entry Operator

In this test, a candidate must have a data entry speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Impressions per hour. The duration of the Test will be 15 minutes and an English document having about 2000-2200 strokes/key depressions will be given to type.

The Skill Test will be conducted for Data Entry Operators only. The typing test will be conducted for other posts i.e. LDC/ JSA.

For Skill Test:

  • Module II of Section III will include the Skill Test/ Typing Test in Session II on the same day.
  • Skill Test/ Typing Test will be qualifying.
  • Errors in the Skill Test will be calculated up to 2 decimal places.
  • Skill Test is mandatory for Data Entry Operators. No candidate is exempted from appearing in the Skill Test.

For Typing Test:

  • The medium of the Typing Test will be Hindi or English.
  • The candidates will have to opt for the medium of Typing Test i.e. either Hindi or English in the online Application Form.
  • The choice of Typing Test during the application form will be final. There will be no change in the medium of the Typing Test.
  • Candidates opting for English medium should have a typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.)
  • The candidates opting for Hindi medium should have a typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.)
  • The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the Computer of a given text passage in 10 minutes.
